Maps & Lists for 2006/07 season

These are the confirmed line ups for steps 1-4 for the 2006/07 season as proposed by the Alliance Committee meeting on 10th May and ratified at the meeting of the FA Leagues Committee on 11th May.

  • They are based on the following:

  • Promotion/relegation works as detailed here

  • Banstead Athletic & Runcorn have resigned from step 4

  • Canvey Island have resigned from step1 and drop to step 4. Scarborough are reprieved at step 1, Leigh RMI are repreived at step 2 and Hendon are reprieved at step 3. If Altrincham win their appeal against points deduction then they will stay in step 1 and Scarborough will be relegated.

  • There will be 5 divisions at step 4. The Northern Premier Division One will have 24 teams in preparation for an extra division in the future and the other 4 divisions will have 22 teams. A great deal of consideration was given to having 6 divisions at step 4 but agreement could not be reached on how this could sensibly be achieved this year. It is likely to happen in the near future.

  • With Runcorn & Banstead resigning and the NPL1 expanding to 24 clubs, only the two clubs with the worst records are relegated from step 4 - Thame United and Bishop Auckland.  

  • In the top 3 positions, there are 29 teams from step 5 to move up. These are those teams in the top 3 positions in each of the step 5 leagues who  have passed the ground grading.

    • Maidstone United (Kent)

    • Stourbridge, Chasetown & Malvern Town (Midland Alliance)

    • Buxton & Harrogate Railway (Northern Counties East)

    • Alsager Town, Skelmersdale United & Cammell Laird (North West Counties)

    • Oxford City, Hillingdon Borough & Hanwell Town (Spartan South Midlands)
