Confirmed Maps & Lists for 2008/09 season

The maps and lists below were agreed by the Leagues Committee on 14th May 2008

  • Playoff details here.

  • There will be 129 clubs at step 4 - 22 in each IL and SL division 21 in the NP1N and 20 in NP1S.

  • Halifax have been expelled from step 1 and been placed in step 4. This means Altrincham are reprieved at step 1, Hucknall Town at step 2, Boreham Wood at step 3 and Slough Town at step 4. 

  • Retford United (NP1S champions) will not be promoted as their ground is not of the required standard. Instead, Cammell Laird, the 2nd placed club will be promoted automatically and the 3rd -6th placed clubs played off for the remaining promotion place which was won by Nantwich Town. 

  • Edgware Town have resigned from IL1N and Ilford will be reprieved 

  • The bottom team in NP1S (Spalding United) will be reprieved (as Alsager Town failed to meet required ground grade and will be relegated)

  • Durham City will move up from the Northern League.

  • Trafford & Salford City will move up from the North West Counties.

  • Atherstone Town and Loughborough Dynamo will move up from the Midland Football Alliance.

  • Glapwell will move up from the Northern Counties East.

  • A further 9 champion clubs will move up from the 10 other step 5 leagues. Crowborough Athletic (SxL), Merstham (CCL), Concord Rangers (ESL), Soham Town Rangers (ECL), North Leigh (HL), AFC Totton (WxL), Truro City (WL), Thamesmead Town (KL) and Beaconsfield SYCOB (SSM). This is convenient as all step 5 champion clubs who have passed the ground grading move up to step 4.

  • List of clubs that applied to move up from step 5 to step 4 here. Shows those that have achieved step 4 grading requirement.

Further changes subsequent to the meeting on 14th May

  • Cambridge City relegated from CONFS which reprieves Weston Super Mare.

  • Nuneaton Borough and Boston United demoted from Conference North. Nuneaton Borough change name to Nuneaton Town and will play in SL1M. Boston United relegated to NPP.

  • Dorchester Town (CONFS) and Vauxhall Motors (CONFN) reprieved from relegation

  • Redditch United now moved back from CONFS to CONFN

  • Bedford Town reprieved from relegation from SLP to SL1M as a result of Nuneaton
