Dear Tony, I have only just found out about your illness. I lost my wife of 37 years in January 2007 after an 18 month brave battle with pancreatic cancer. I have been very fortunate in meeting another lovely lady and we were married last August. I can understand and sympathise with the thoughts that must be going through the minds of both yourself and your wife. The Chemo really does make a difference, because pancreatic cancer is about the most lethal and Marion, my late wife, would probably have lasted only a few weeks without that treatment - and she packed a lot of things into that 18 months, such as holidays abroad etc. I hope that this will give you some encouragement and hope for the future.
