The world of football produces some great people and gives millions a wonderful shared experience. However, that experience would be little without the handful of people who contribute so much and help to bring the many together.

I never met Tony but his name was well known to me and I visited his website on many occasions. I never met Tony personally, but like everyone else who has commented here I mourn his loss. Primarily for his family, of course, and I send you my condolences, but also of course to the world of non-League football, which was his passion.

I wonder if perhaps one of the greatest tributes to Tony will be that in pubs and clubs up and down the land, the most heated argument in the argumentative world of the football fan always comes to a grinding halt after the words "Tony Kempster's site says...."

Only Kempster had the power to do this! While the words "According to Kempster...." are used, I'm sure he'll always be honoured.

A true legend of non league footie. I was extremely saddened to hear of Tony's passing away and offer sincere condolences to his family. Tony's non-league footie website was fantastic. Every Saturday night around 10pm and Monday morning around 9am I'd look for the results of all the teams I followed out of support and curiosity. I was genuinely upset when I heard of Tony's passing away. Quite odd considering I never met the man.

I have attended many non league football matches over the past few years that I never would have without Tony's help - via his website.

Though I did not know the man I would like to register my utmost gratitude for providing a first class website for so many years. Living away from my home town, it was the staple website allowing me to keep up with my local teams progress. He improved my knowledge of the lower leagues and made my life that little bit easier. True dedication which is way beyond me and 99% of the population.

Trying to access Tony's wonderful website like so many times before I learnt that he passed away last June. I feel very sorry for him and his family . Thank you so much for the great contribution to the game that you've been making for such a long time ! RIP Tony, you gave so much and will be missed greatly by all true football fans. But of course more so by your loving family.

Not long after the 'internet' formation of my club, FC United Of Manchester, many fans didn't have a clue what step 6 meant, who we would meet, what thrilling journeys we would all embark upon in the last four years or so.

Somebody posted a link to Tony's site, simply and rightly pointing out " Everything you'll ever need to know about non-league football "

It is with great sadness that I have learnt of Tony's death. I always enjoyed reading through his website and am sure the whole non-league community will miss him. My deepest sympathies go to his family and friends.

It was with great sadness that I now know of Tony's passing. What he gave all Non-League football fans and players was a complete demographic of the football pyramid you simply could not obtain anywhere else. The passion and attention to detail will always be remembered and I must say a heartfelt and sincere 'Thank you Tony' for all the incredible amount of work and dedication you willingly contributed to help us all gain that particular piece of information we needed on a Sat eve/Sun am - just to make us feel our efforts - no matter how small - were being noted somewhere !

My thoughts are with your family and you should know that your memory will be preserved with affection by all throughout Non-Football and beyond.
