Chemotherapy it is

Saw the man today for the results of my scans and as I expected, the cancer has spread too far for them to be able to operate.

This means I will be going on a course of chemotherapy. Exactly how this will work we won’t know until next Wednesday when I go to see the chemo expert – a guy called Kim Last. He will then outline what I can expect.

It is also likely that, as they are not going to operate, they will put a stent into my bowel so that the waste product can get past the tumour and out of my body.

Dad,

I am not very good at expressing my feelings so thought leaving a short message here would help.

This is clealy not the news we had wanted to hear, but I wanted you to know that we are here, night or day, to support you and Mum in anything that the future throws at us. It is going to be a long journey but I know by pulling together we can get through this as a family, whatever the outcome.

You've got a dad to be proud of there. His non-league website is indispensable for thousands of football fans and you can be sure that all of us, supporters of different clubs up and down the country, are rooting for him and wishing him well. Not much else I can do or say.

I know this may not be an awful lot of help, but you are not alone.
Along with thousands of others, I am also battling with a similar condition.

I am so sorry to hear the cancer has spread. I will call you and Anne soon but want to give you both time for it all to sink in. As with Collette and Ian, we are here for whatever help we can give. I know it will be difficult but I am confident that you are strong enough physically and mentally to fight this. Thinking of you all.

Tony, in common with the other posters here I'm immensley grateful to you for the wonderful site that you operate.
15 years ago I suffered from a cancer and the knowledge that my family, friends and even casual acquantances were thinking about me gave me enormous support and strength.
I'm the secretary of the Exeter City Supporter's trust (who are the majority shareholders in the Football Club) and on behalf of the Trust give you our very best wishes for a sucessful programme of treatment.
